Farewell and Congratulations!
OTTAWA, June 17, 2016 // It is with mixed feelings that we say farewell to Norm Reid who is retiring from FMAV; A feeling of sadness to see our friend leaving, yet happy for Norm as he begins this next chapter.
An industry veteran, Norm first joined the AV world in 1975 at ISTS Simultaneous Interpretation. From there, he held progressively senior technical and sales management roles at various companies, including Duocom before it joined Frischkorn Audiovisual. In 2005, Norm found his home when Mediaco founder, James Brett invited Norm to help the company expand into Ottawa.
As Director of Sales for the region, Norm’s charisma, skill, passion, and leadership helped propel the company to new heights. An active member in the meetings community with professional achievements abound, his most renowned work was with the Conservative Party of Canada. Norm and his teams were the production masterminds behind every election, every convention and every political event tied to the party. In an industry where Norm’s best work is behind the scenes, he was recently honoured on-stage at the 2016 CPC Convention where Laureen Harper said it best:
“Norm Reid is the heart of FMAV. He is a consummate professional who’s never seen a problem he couldn’t solve or a client need that couldn’t be met.”
Although Friday June 24 marks Norm’s last day in the office, he looks forward to maintaining those treasured connections with his friends and colleagues at FMAV.
Thank you, Norm! You have contributed forty years of experience to your team, your clients, and the industry. Your incredible achievements will not be forgotten and we wish you the very best on this next exciting chapter.
