Monet’s Secret Garden Gala, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver, BC.

FMAV partnered with the Vancouver Art Gallery on the planning and execution of a lavish black tie fundraising gala that would raise the profile of the Vancouver Art Gallery, reach and exceed the fundraising goal of $650,000, and allow the Galleries’ VIP members to get a preview of the Claude Monet exhibition. FMAV worked closely with the client to produce a Monet-inspired environment through the events dinner, live auction, and artistic performances that uniquely engaged each attendee.

The annual fundraising summer Gala brings together over 400 of Canada’s top art enthusiasts and philanthropists for the benefit of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s exhibitions and public programming. The Gala features a custom reception, along with an exclusive, behind the-scenes glimpse of the installation of Monet’s works. The night also included a Monet-inspired dinner, a live auction and artistic performances, complimented with AV solutions provided by FMAV.

FMAV supplied lighting throughout the space and focused it in the soaring dome and twin marble staircase. FMAV designed and installed 2 parallel truss lines for lighting and scenic with a down space truss line supported from the floor.

Video systems comprised of 2 large LED video walls, that featured auction content and live translation scripts from English to Mandarin and Mandarin to English.

The event was able to raise well over the financial goal threshold of $650,000, raising a total of $900,000, breaking all previous years’ revenue goals by $300,000. The event was even named one of Vancouver’s best fundraising events by the Globe and Mail, and has already received critical acclaim.

“In my 25 year event career I’ve never been part of a project where everyone worked so tirelessly shoulder-to-shoulder to make an evening spectacular.
