MediaLab Content Specialist, Montreal


The role of the MediaLab Content Specialist (CS) is to conceptualize and create high-end content for projects brought to the National MediaLab Department. This includes the coordination and design of multiple content projects on a daily basis while adhering to department procedures, deadlines, and workflow. The CS reports to the National MediaLab Manager (NMM) and to the local Branch General Manager (GM).  This is a full-time position that requires flexibility with evenings and weekends as well as out-of-town work when necessary. The CS is required to maintain a presence in the office as well as remain connected via email and cell phone outside normal business hours.


Key Responsibilities

Local MediaLab

  • First point of contact for MediaLab work requests
  • Manage project time and daily workload efficiently
  • Design content, set timelines and critical paths as well as content production/delivery schedules
  • Liaise with Account Managers on MediaLab requests
  • concerning:
  1. Media requirements
  2. Recommendations concerning effective content
  3. Timelines and dates, assist in preparing quotes
  4. Feedback on draft media concepts
  • Assist in client relations and attend client meetings as required to discuss creative concepts
  • Oversee production of all required content
  • Coordinate all sub-contracting of services to freelance designers
  • Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Listen to the client to understand their needs before making design decisions
  • Follow standards for workflow, approvals, content delivery, and best practices
  • Maintain ongoing communication on project updates, schedules, and workloads with NMM
  • Liaise with Production and Operations to ensure content is deliverable using the technology assigned to the project
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to ensure their content aligns with FMAV’s content/presentation format
  • Quality control of content production
  • Monitor hardware and software in the local MediaLab and report any issues to the NMM
  • Ready to learn new software and techniques to increase skillset

National MediaLab

  • Assist on project collaboration at a national level
  • Liaise with NMM when a local project requires national assistance
  • Work closely with NMM to drive innovative ideas and content projects
  • Monitor and analyze trends in the industry to make recommendations for the future of the department
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media


  • Design and/or approve content for events
  • Perform high-end motion/still graphic design and video editing
  • Perform high-end 3D modeling, animation, and design
  • Serve as a resource for innovative, creative media solutions for Account Managers (video, text, music, voice overs, new themes for repeat events)

Marketing & Sales

  • Contribute creative ideas/concepts for marketing media and materials, assist in its creation
  • Work with NMM and sales staff to support proposals eg. Renderings, mock-ups, example animations


  • Maintain project library, including ensuring all media content is securely stored and manage archiving of data
  • Liaise with the I.T. Manager to ensure proper protocols and hardware are in place to accommodate graphic needs (systems, storage, connectivity, file movement, backups, etc.)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Very strong computer graphics skills, including Adobe
    Creative Cloud & Cinema 4D
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (word, excel, power point)
  • Keen attention to detail
